By the way, there are so many places other than this list that you cannot visit every one of them in one go. But you can always come back and complete one place at a time!

1. Gandhi Asharam
Gandhi Ashram, also known as Sabarmati Ashram, is a must on your list of must-visit places. This place plays a very important role in the history of India’s freedom struggle against British rule.
This place was home to Mahatma Gandhi Ji from 1917 until 1930. It is situated on the river bank of the Sabarmati River.
On March 12, 1930, Gandhiji and his companions started the Dandi march against the British salt law.
Gandhiji took a vow that he would not return to the Sabarmati Ashram until India won independence. India was declared a free nation in 1947, but unfortunately, Gadhiji never returned to the ashram because he was assassinated in January 1948.

2. Kankariya Lake
If you want to enjoy yourself with your friends and family and have a fun relaxing time in the evening, Kankariya Lake is the perfect place for you. Kankariya Lake is one of the places in Ahmedabad, Jovalayak Sthal, you must not miss.
It is the second-largest lake in Ahmedabad city and Gujarat state. It is located in the Maninagar area.
There are so many fun activities available for adults and kids. Some of them are below,

If you are one of those tourists who likes to visit and experience everything a place has to offer, then I suggest you visit the Kankaria Lake in the morning so that you can spend the whole day and enjoy all the fun activities this place has to offer.
On the other hand, if you are the kind of person who just wants to relax and enjoy the sunset while sitting by the lake and enjoying yummy food with your family, then I suggest you visit Kankariya Lake in the evening before sunset around 4 p.m.

3. Adalaj Stepwell
Adalaj Stepwell is a beautiful historical place situated near Ahmedabad. Its distance from Ahmedabad is around 20 km. From Gandhinagar, the distance is around 10 km. It was built in 1498 by Rani Rudadevi in the memory of Rana Veer Singh.
Adalaj Stepwell is carved beautifully, and it is five stories deep. This stepwell is built in both Hindu and Muslim architectural styles.

Adalaj Stepwell is a must-see place if you are visiting Ahmedabad. It is one of the best in Ahmedabad Jovalayak Sthal. You can do some photography here with your mobile. Professional photography is probably not allowed here, for more information you can ask at the place.

4. Sidi Saiyyed Mosque
Sidi Sayyed Mosque is another beautiful architectural gem in Ahmedabad. It is locally known as “Sidi Sayyed ni Jali”.
It was built by Shaikh Sa’id Al-Habshi Sultani in 1572–’73. The mosque is known for its beautiful carved stonework on the windows. It was built in an Islamic architectural style.
This place is located at Bhadra Road, Lal Darvaja, Ahmedabad.

5. Sabarmati Riverfront
Sabarmati Riverfront is a relaxing walking route for the public. Its development started in 2005. It was built along the side of the Sabarmati River in Ahmedabad city.
There are gardens, ghats, and sports facilities developed on the riverfront. The riverfront is developed on both sides of the Sabarmati River’s bank. Both sides are connected by various bridges like the Subhash Bridge, the Nehru Bridge, the Dadhichi Bridge, etc.

Most of the riverfront is free to enter, but some parts with gardens require nominal entry fees. People mostly come to the riverfront early in the morning for jogging, yoga, walking, and cycling.

Sabarmati Riverfront is a peaceful and relaxing place for anyone who wants to sit beside the river and enjoy a beautiful sunset or sunrise. Do visit here if you are in Ahmedabad.
6. The Calico Museum of Textile
The Calico Museum of Textiles is one of India’s finest textile museums and has a huge collection of Indian textiles. Here you can see miniature paintings, south Indian bronze statues, Jain art and crafts, and other historical fabrics from the historical era of Mugal and other historical eras.
This museum is located in the Shahhibaug area of Ahmedabad city. It is by far one of the best Ahmedabad, Jovalayak Sthal. This museum is managed by the Sarabhai Foundation. It was founded in 1949 by Gautam Sarabhai and Gira Sarabhai.
There are two guided tours available at the museum. Information regarding those tours is as under,

7. Bhadra Fort
Bhadra Fort is situated in Ahmedabad city. It was made by Sultan Ahmad Shah in 1411. This fort was used as a court in the old times.
Bhadra’s name comes from the Bhadra Kali temple inside the Fort. Before its name was Arak Fort. You can see the clock on top of the fort wall. It was brought here from London during British rule.

This fort is a unique historical landmark of Ahmedabad city. Which is connected to Marathas, Gujarat Sultanate, and British Rule.
8. Jama Masjid
Jama Masjid was built in 1424 during the rule of Sultan Ahmad Shah. Jama means Friday. Jama Masjid means Friday Mosque.
This mosque has a combination of architectures of Islamic, Hindu, and Jain elements. It is one of the most beautiful mosques which has a huge and peaceful courtyard for ‘Namaz’.

This mosque is one of the most beautiful mosques in India. With the combination of various architectural styles. It is a must-visit place for those who seek to explore historical monuments and are interested in Indian history.
9. Hatheesing Jain Temple
Hatheesingh Jain Temple was built in 1848. The temple was constructed in the Maru Gurjar Style. But its design also included some creative style of ‘Haveli’.
A wealthy trader of Ahmedabad named Hatheesingh Kesarisinh planned and started the construction but due to his unfortunate death, his wife Harkunwar completed the construction.
The temple is located near the Delhi Darvaja area in Ahmedabad City.

Camera not allowed in the temple. There is a museum also inside the area which you can visit to know the history of the place. The entry fee for the museum is 20 Rupees.

If you have a short amount of time this is the place you can visit and explore the glorious history of Ahmedabad city. It will not take more than an hour to fully explore the place. So do not miss this unique place from all other Ahmedabad Jovalayak Sthal.
10. Sarkhej Roza
Sarkhej Roza is a place where the tomb of Shaikh Ahmed Khattu Ganj Baksh, a Sufi saint is located. He was an advisor to the Sultan Ahmed Shah.
He lived 111 years and during his lifetime, he was very well respected by everyone. There is a mausoleum built in his honor, along with a mosque in this place.
Sarkhej Roza is situated in Makarba area of Ahmedabad city.

There is a beautiful small lake attached to the place. Do not miss the opportunity to visit this peaceful place if you come to Ahmedabad. This is a good, quiet place among all the other Ahmedabad Jovalayak Sthal in Ahmedabad.
11. Hazrat Bai Harir Vav (Stepwell)
It is a five-story stepwell built in 1485 by Dhai Harir. She was an overseer of the Royal Harem of Sultan Mahmud Begada. She also built a mosque and a tomb where she was buried.
This stepwell is a 15th-century historical place which is situated in the Asarva area of Ahmedabad city. Stepwell’s architectural style is of Indo-Islamic style.
This place is full of beautiful wall carvings with 2 underground step wells.

12. Manek Chowk Food Street – Ahmedabad Jovalayak Sthal
Manek Chowk is a place for “Foodies”. If you love to try different types of street food this is the place for you! In the day Manek Chawk is a trader’s market but at night after all the shops close, it turns into a food street!
The unique thing about this food street is, that where all the areas of Ahmedabad go quiet after 11 pm, Manek Chawk food street is lively even at midnight!
If you don’t believe me see for yourself and visit Manek Chawk on Sunday at midnight in the night. You will be amazed for sure!

Before the pandemic, it was open till 2 am, but the timings may have changed in recent times. But if you plan to visit then go after 9 or 10 pm, you will be able to enjoy local food dishes.
One other thing, I suggest you go there by rikshaw, do not take the car. Manek Chawk is a street where so many food stalls are there. There will be a crowd. So you will not be able to enter via car and also you will not be able to find a parking spot for your car.
13. Shree Swaminarayan Temple (Akshardham) Gandhinagar
Akshardham means, “Home of Divine”. Swaminarayan Akshardham is a large ‘Hindu Temple’.
This temple was inspired by Yogiji Maharaj in 1892. And created by Pramukh Swami Maharaj from 1921 to 2016. The temple is located in Gandhinagar, around 30 kilometers distance from Ahmedabad City.
I know all the other places I listed before are located in Ahmedabad city and this one is not. But if you have an extra day during your trip to Ahmedabad, I highly suggest you visit this temple. You can easily spend 3-4 hours or more here. There is so much to see. And also there is a well-managed food court so you do not need to worry about where to eat.

14. Teen Darvaja

The Teen Darwaza is built by Sultan Ahmad Shah. Its construction was completed in 1415.
There is a Maratha inscription engraved here in 1812 by Chimnaji Raghunath. It is about equal rights for women to own ancestral properties.
In 1459 young king Muhammad Begda also marched from here. There is so much history connected with this place. If you are in Ahmedabad and pass through the old city Bhadra road, do take a closer look.

15. Law Garden
Not a single trip is completed without shopping, right? Whenever you travel you always look for some souvenirs to buy and take home with you as a memory of the trip or for your friends.
So once you complete your visit to all the places of your choice from the above list,
Law Garden is the place for you to shop! The best time to visit this place is in the evening. When all the stalls start to open. After shopping you can also enjoy ‘Amdavadi Food’ at Happy Street. Which also starts to open in the evening. Do not miss this Ahmedabad Jovalayak Sthal during your trip.
On weekends, Law Garden is full of people and it becomes like a ‘Mela’. So if possible try to come here on the weekend in the evening. You will see what I am talking about.
Here you can buy traditional handicrafts, Chaniyacholi (women wear it for the Navratri festival), traditional ornaments, accessories that go with Chaniyacholi, traditional footwear, etc.
So don’t miss this unique place and come with ample time on your hands. You will surely enjoy it.

16. Science City
Science City as its name suggests has various science-related exhibitions, where you have fun and learn about innovations and the history of science. It is one of the best Ahmedabad Jovalayak Sthal.
There are galleries, robotics areas, a zoo, and 3D theaters that you can visit in the Science City. To completely explore Science City you need a whole day in my opinion.
Recently there are several new areas have been added for the public. Like underwater aquariums, robotics gallery, etc.
